ABOUT PGPClip
-------------
PGPClip is a simple utility to encrypt and decrypt the Windows clipboard
using PGP.

NO INTEGRATION WITH PGP
-----------------------
I found it cumbersome when using PGP with mail programs such
as MS Mail and cc:Mail under NT. Mainly this is because you have to
import and export your mail files through DOS PGP.

To decrypt a message in your mail program you have to save your mail
message to a file, decrypt it to another file, reply in another file,
encrypt that to another file, and import the final encrypted reply back
into the mailer. With PGPClip, you skip a few steps. You simply copy
the encrypted message into the clipboard, decrypt the clipboard, compose
your reply and copy that into the clipboard, and encrypt again. It also
saves you the hassle of having to remember the correct PGP flags. All of
this can be done inside a text editor such as notepad, or just your
mailer's message editor.

PGPClip is not fully GUI. It simply runs PGP commands for you through
the normal PGP program.

PGPClip FEATURES
----------------
PGPClip can:
o Encrypt messages to multiple recipients.
o Optionally sign and encrypt messages to multiple recients
o Sign messages leaving the message readable

o Optionally decrypt messages and prefix with reply characters (e.g. >)

BUGS
----
Annoying console windows will appear when executing most functions. If a
32-bit version of PGP ever comes out some of these windows can be
eliminated by hiding the console and redirecting the output. For now
we'll have to live it.

Because of the 128 byte pathname restriction for DOS programs, selecting
multiple recipients can result in failure when trying to encrypt the
clipboard. A win32 version of PGP would help.

PGPClip currently only runs under NT. There are no plans to migrate it
to other platforms.

SETUP
-----
PGPClip requires a version of PGP already installed on your computer.
This version of PGPClip was created and tested using PGP 2.6.2. Other
versions will probably work, but have not been tested. Other than PGP
itself, there is no setup required. A PGPPATH environment variable is
mandatory.
