X-Deep/32 is a full 32 bit, multi-threaded X-Server implemention using Win32
API on Windows NT(tm) and Windows 95 Operating System.

Amongst the important features are

	* It exploits the full power of 32 bit operating system.
	* It uses the built in TCP/IP of the operating system.
	* It supports all popular display resolution depths..
		4, 8, 16, 24 and 32 bit deep displays.
	* It supports all the X11 visuals -
		PseudoColor, StaticColor, TrueColor, DirectColor, GrayScale
depending upon the depth of the display device.
	* It has a builtin window manager which supports the basic window
management functions from the ICCCM protocol.
More rich functionalities will be added for future releases.
	* Supports user defaults through registry database.
	* Supports cut and paste of text between X SELECTIONS and Windows Clipboard.
	* Easy to install setup, with full registry initializations.
	* Co-exists fully with other Windows NT and Windows 95 applications,
	  on the same desktop.
	* Selective option to draw the X root window.
	* Supports and installs all the standard MIT distributed font files
	* Comes with an easy to use X Client Launcher - xcl
to launch local clients, with easy saving and restoring of client
	  options.
	* Local transport through shared memory is supported. This enables
local clients to connect without the TCP/IP network.
To use local shared memory transport set DISPLAY to :0.0
	* Cut and paste of text between an X-Window and Windows applications
via Windows clipboard is supported. The text selection should come
via X CUT_BUFFER_0. Most of the X application uses this mechanism.
Anything in the Windows Clipboard with CF_TEXT, is also mirrored
	  to CUT_BUFFER_0
	* Also Cut and paste of graphical bitmap data is provided between
any X client window and Windows clipboard CF_BITMAP data. The user can
select the area to be put in the windows clipboard through point and
	  click interaction.
	* Supports local printing of X client window of either the entire window
or a selected portion of the window.
	* Supports SHAPE extension
	* Works over phone lines with modem, over SLIP/PPP.

Running the X-Server
----------------------

Just double click on the X-Deep/32 Server icon, in the Program Manager
Group X-Deep/32 X-Server. After starting the X-server, you can start local
clients/demo programs or run remote X application over the TCP/IP network.
Use the short cut pointer to local Windows Telnet to connect to the remote
host to run remote X clients. Also the remote host can be configured to provide
automatic login via XDM. (X display manager).

xcl (X Client Launcher) program is provided for easy startup of local
X client programs. This is very simple and intutive program which enables you
to browse for X Client applications (for that matter any executable) to execute.
It also provides dialog box for specifying command line arguments, and options
for capture of stdout and stderr files. You can also specify whether to
create a console window, if it is a console application. You can also save
the settings you specified. The settings are saved in the registy database
of HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\ tree, using the complete path name of the executable
selected as the key. You can save multiple settings for a give executable and
load them before executing the program.
