Hey there "Weird Al" fans!!!

After spending long minutes making the "Weird Al" cursor, I had to
shut down Windows 95 and go to the bathroom. Well, I noticed one
thing as I shut the system down--the screen was boring.

You've tried the cute little fishies. You've prolly even
downloaded the Freddy Krueger ones around halloween time. But I
bet you've yet to find ones with "Weird Al" and his wonderful band
on them?

Well, i surfed on over to Jon "Bermuda" Schwarz's web site:

                 http://www.loop.com/~bermuda

And discovered a vast array of photographs just begging to be put
into sys files for the startup and shutdown screens for Windows
95. So I got permission from Jon to use them, and in a matter of
minutes I had created these creations worthy of partaking.

So, when you want to replace one of yr screens, you need to rename
one of the included files to the file you want to replace.

logos.sys is your preparing to shutdown screen (located in win95 subdir).
logow.sys is your shutdown screen (located in win95 subdir).
logo.sys is your startup screen (located in yr root directory).

cstrband.sys is the band on a roller coaster.
mmmmband.sys is the band from their "Headline News" days.
nirvband.sys is 3/4 of the band posing as Nirvana.
watrband.sys is the unpublished photograph from OTDE.
yankband.sys is a great photograph of stale cheese.

Just rename any sys file to the old sys file you want to replace.

For instance, if I wanted to replace my shutdown screen, I would copy
yankband.sys:

     copy yankband.sys \win95

Then I'd type:

     del logos.sys

Then:
     ren yankband.sys logos.sys

It will be -that- simple for you to do. I swear. Nothing could
be more difficult. Jon did the scanning, I did the converting,
and you do the viewing.

You'll also notice that I've included my homepage on each photo.
I do this merely because I would like to have credit for creating
these sys files. I can't stand it when people don't get credit
for their creations. I've been burned with many ASCII art
creations I've done and I don't want to let it happen again.

I've also included my "Weird Al" cursor. If anyone wants to use
these and start compiling a "Weird Al" Plus! Theme, be my guest.
I don't really have much time right now. I just wanted to see
what would happen if I tried doing this for the fans out there.

Please be in touch in some way. I should have that homepage up
for some time to come, seeing as I'm about to be a grad student at
the University of Northern Iowa. But if not, try contacting me
via e-mail or ISCA:

Thanks for downloading this file... let me know how everything
turns out or what you might like to see in the future! =)
