Subject: Graphics Appear Crosshatched in Cover Page Designer

Situation:
==========
All graphics in Cover Page Designer appear as crosshatched boxes.

Solution:
=========
1. From the View menu, ensure that the Show Graphics option is selected.
    A check mark should appear next to the option.

2. If the problem still occurs, then the [WinFax Importers] section may be
    missing from your WINFAX.INI file. Close WinFax. Use Notepad to open
    the WINFAX.INI file and add the following at the beginning of the file:

        [WinFax Importers]
        Windows Bitmap (*.bmp)=BMP,DTIFLBMP.DLL,*.BMP
        Windows Metafile (*.wmf)=WMF,DTIFLWMF.DLL,*.WMF
        TIFF (*.tif)=TIF,DTIFLTIF.DLL,*.TIF
        PC Paintbrush (*.pcx)=PCX,DTIFLPCX.DLL,*.PCX
        GEM Image (*.img)=IMG,DTIFLIMG.DLL,*.IMG
        GEM Metafile (*.gem)=GEM,DTIFLGEM.DLL,*.GEM
        Mac Paint (*.bin)=PNT,DTIFLPNT.DLL,*.BIN
        Encap. Postscript (*.eps)=EPS,DTIFLEPS.DLL,*.EPS
        Gr. Interchange (*.gif)=GIF,DTIFLGIF.DLL,*.GIF
        WinFax (*.fxs)=FXS,DTIFLFXS.DLL,*.FXS

    After making these changes to the WINFAX.INI file, restart WinFax.

3. If the problem still occurs, the situation may be resolved by:

    - increasing available system resources by closing other applications,
       or
    - increasing the size of the Windows swap file. Select 386 Enhanced
       from the Windows Control Panel. Click Virtual Memory. Change the
       settings on the Virtual Memory dialog. Click OK and Yes to accept
       the changes. Click OK and exit the Control Panel.

Note: The presence of the crosshatching does not seem to interfere with
       the image being sent. All graphics appear as normal in the received
       fax.
