Subject: Credit Card Dialling Problems with Class 2, WorldPort HLF
         and Sendfax

Situation:
==========
Credit card users with Class 2, WorldPort HLF or Sendfax modems receive an
event error when sending a fax.

Solution:
=========

WorldPort HLF and Sendfax Modems
--------------------------------
After the fax/modem has begun dialing, the indicator in the Status dialog
displays "Error". Upon timing out, the event is assigned a "Call Cancelled"
status code in the Send Log.

The dial progress fails whenever the dial sequence is longer than 38
characters (including dashes and commas). This problem stems from a design
limitation of WorldPort HLF and SendFax fax/modems. These fax/modems are
unable to accept dial sequences longer than 38 characters.

If possible, edit your dial sequence to be 38 characters or less. If the
dial sequence must be more than 38 characters, you will not be able to use
the Use Credit Card option.

Class 2 Modems
--------------
If you have your speaker on when the fax/modem begins dialling, you will
hear that only the first few characters of the dial sequence are processed.
The indicator in the Status dialog displays "No Dial Tone". The event is
assigned a "No Dial Tone" status code in the Send Log.

The dial progress will fail whenever the Use Credit Card option is enabled
in the Send Dialog. This problem has been solved in the Remote Retrieve
enabling release of WinFax PRO 4.0. Disable the Use Credit Card option
until you receive the enabling release.
