This document contains information on the latest release (R7) of
Quickbooks Version 3.0 for Windows. This supplements the documentation and
online Help that came with your product.

INSTALLING THE RELEASE
-----------------------------------
This patchfile will update any release of QuickBooks for Windows Version 3.0
prior to release 7. To check your release, start QuickBooks, then press CTRL
and 1 at the same time. The release notes documenting the changes between
releases follow. This update will update only the US version, and will not
update the Deluxe Version or the Trial Version.

To update your installation, you will need to obtain the file QBWR7.ZIP.
You will then need to exit Windows and return to DOS if you are currently in
Windows. Once in DOS, you will need to locate the directory which contains
QuickBooks, probably C:\QBOOKSW.

This file will then need to be copied to the directory which contains
QuickBooks for Windows Version 3.0, and then uncompressed using PKUNZIP, not
supplied with this patch file. You will need PKUNZIP.EXE version 2.0g or
above to decompress this file.

Decompressing QBWR7.ZIP will produce the following files:

QBWR7.BAT
PATCH.EXE
QBWR7.RTP

Once you have decompressed QBWR7.ZIP you must run QBWR7.BAT by typing
QBWR7 at the DOS prompt to update your installation. Note that the updating
process may take some time, so please be patient. If the updating process
is interupted for any reason, you will need to reinstall QuickBooks before
you can use it again.

VERIFYING YOUR RELEASE
------------------------------------
While running the Quickbooks program, press the CTRL and 1 keys at
the same time. Use the 1 key from the set that runs across the top
of the keyboard, not the one on the numeric keypad. A Quickbooks
Information screen will pop up, and the release number is listed right
after Version 3.0.

RELEASE NOTES
----------------------
