QUICK START DIRECTIONS FOR SIR GARETH

1. UnZIP the files into a program directory. We suggest an internal
directory of your Camelot files, but it isn't necessary.

2. Move the DBFAST.INI file to your Windows program directory. Move
sample screen GR_CLDIR.SCR to your Camelot screens' directory.

3. Create an icon for Sir Gareth by dragging the file from the File
Manager to the work group of your choice.

4. With Excalibur's GRAIL running, start Sir Gareth. You will
immediately be presented by two configuration dialogue boxes.
Fill these in, but leave the registration code blank. You can
fill this in once you have evaluated Sir Gareth and mailed in your
registration fee. Be sure to follow the examples in setting up
your directories, as Sir Gareth will need this information to both
look up information and transfer the files it creates.

5. Start your work session by creating the data files. Use the options
with the Update pull-down menu to build a succesion of information.
Note that the files option will also build your Libraries and
Conferences. In order to maintain accuracy, we recommend that the log
file be built from an active log of at least 5 days.

6. You are ready to begin building the reports and screens. Remember
that the files GR-LOGOa.SCR and GR-LOGOb.SCR will be automatically
inserted into the appropriate screens as they are created, (see
FILELIST.TXT for a full description). These are provided in order
that you may customize the screens with your own BBS's logo and
'chain to' buttons and commands. These screens must fit into the
existing layout of the charts and screen lists. So create a chart,
then use Merlin to modify the portion of the screen you want your
BBS information to go into, then erase the rest of the chart, and
SAVE AS either GR-LOGOa.SCR or GR-LOGOb.scr as appropriate. Each
chart from then on will automatically insert your design into itself.

7. Now take a minute or two to review the screens. Work out how you
will present this new information to your callers and chain the
    screens into your existing format.

8. Most of the operations that Gareth performs are quite quick. However,
there are a couple of data collection and sorting techniques that may
take a little time. Keep an eye on the status bar for updating messages
    during long operations.

A final note - Sir Gareth will copy the screens and reports it creates
into the screens directory you have specified in the
configuration process. If do not wish to automatically
overwrite the previous session's screens, make a dummy
directory and configure Sir Gareth to place the items
                 there.

 Have fun!
