                   "HM-Card introduces HM-Card"

HM-Card is a comprehensive software tool running on PCs under MS-
Windows for developing interactive multimedia courseware. It brings
together text, graphics, animation, sound, images and answer-judging
procedures in order to create computer-based training courses. It should
be especially noted that the creation of all components of courseware is
a programming-free process. Even quite sophisticated animation and
answer-judging algorithms can be defined by means of a special non-
procedural model (i.e., can be built without actual programming).

HM-Card provides authors of a particular courseware with quite
powerful facilities to incorporate materials already existing in computer-
readable form (i.e., texts, graphics, etc.) into courseware being
developed, and uses new tutorial techniques such as animation, answer-
judging and computer-supported collaborative work in order to deliver
these materials in a completely new form. Authoring in HM-Card is
easily mastered, allowing training professionals at every level of
computer knowledge to create sophisticated courseware.
HM-CARD is a multipurpose hypermedia authoring system. The hypermedia
presentations created with HM-CARD can be integrated into other hypermedia
systems or browsed separately using the viewer. The editing and linking
facilities allow the creation of standard hypermedia documents, links and
tours of various complexity.

HM-CARD requires MS-Windows version 3.1, it works also
with Windows-NT and Windows for Workgroups.

The contents of the directory "pub\hmcard", available via anonymous
ftp from "iicm.tu-graz.ac.at", include a viewer for HM-Card databases,
documentation, authoring components and three demonstration presentations.

It is a freeware.

The presentation "Hi, I am HM-Card" demonstrates main features
of the system and you can decide whether the system fits your demands.

In order to install the presentation, please unzip the file "hi_demo.zip" into
 a newly created directory.

In order to view the presentation please activate the module "demo.exe"
(or launch the HM-Card viewer with the following parameters:
             hm_exec.exe -h-ademo).

The demo can be viewed in an automatic mode by launching the HM-Card viewer
   with the following parameter:
             hm_exec.exe -h-mtour
