How do I upload my file to WinSite?

Files are uploaded to a dedicated site, uploads.winsite.com, using ftp (complete instructions can be found at /uploads/README). From there, 'cd' to the appropriate directory for your file: /uploads/win3, /uploads/win95, or /uploads/winnt.

Here is an example of the steps you need to go through for the upload of a Windows 3.1 file called foobar.zip. Remember to press <enter> after each step.

(1) Ftp to our site:

ftp uploads.winsite.com

(2) Logon as 'anonymous'. Password = your email address

User <uploads.winsite.com:<none>>: anonymous

Password: janedoe@thisplace.com [NOTE: use your own email address here!]

(3) You need to move to the proper upload directory for yor program. In this case, the win3 directory. Type:

cd uploads/win3

(4) Set your ftp session to 'binary' for the uploads process. Type:

binary

(5) Upload your file (foobar.zip) and completed template (foobar.tml). Type:

send foobar.zip

then type:

send foobar.tml

There you go! That wasn't so hard. Your upload should be processed in a short time by the WinSite Archivist.
