RTVReco Version 3.0 for Windows95 By: Jeremy Gelber (jeremy@rtvsoft.demon.co.uk) This file is best viewed in Notepad with Word Wrap enabled. This is a small 32 bit program that fills a great gap in the dial-up networking provided in Windows95. The purpose is to redial a connection that is lost due to the line disconnecting. This is accomplished by polling the open windows for one titled "Reestablish Connection" and when it sees the window it presses the button titled "Reconnect..." and redials your connection. All you have to do is add this in your startup group and let it go, as there is no noticeable effect on the system. The options available are the polling time, which determines how often the program checks for the reconnection box, and the option to run a batch file of your choice. This program does not just have to be used for the reconnection dialog box. In fact, you can enter the names of up to three dialog boxes that you want dismissed. A tip here is to make sure you type in the *exact* name of the dialog box and button, and if the button has some text with one letter underlined (a so-called "hotkey") then you should include an ampersand (&) before that letter. For example, if the button you need to press is called "Press Me", and the "M" of "Me" is underlined, the button text would read "Press &Me". Changes since Version 2: 1) Now uses a tabbed dialog box interface. 2) The polling times are more customisable, using trackbar controls. 3) The names of the dialog boxes and buttons can be changed. 4) Up to three dialog boxes are supported, instead of the original single box. If there is anything you would like to see added to this program or would like to comment email jeremy@rtvsoft.demon.co.uk and/or kevinm@cais.com with the subject "RTVReco". Thank you to Shaddow on irc channel #windows95 for the inspiration (otherwise I would have never written this, really!) and to both Shaddow and Minder (also of #windows95) for testing and working out the bugs.
